Philip Turner was appointed President & CEO of Sigmund Software in April, 2012 and is focused on growing the business so that Sigmund increases its suite of product offerings to existing clients and plans to continue to invest in infrastructure so that the Sigmund footprint continues to grow.
Philip began his career in 1990 at Forewest Industries in Calgary, Alberta, where he worked in Oil and Gas technology, specifically for horizontal drilling applications. In 1993, he moved to Pitney Bowes in Toronto in a management role and traveled across Canada and into the United States. In 1997, Philip joined FedEx Canada and was responsible for business planning and pricing initiatives. After 3 years at FedEx, Philip moved over to a software company, where he was one of the founders of a small start-up software company: AutoBranch Technologies. AutoBranch focused on the development of ATM software applications and built some very strong Intellectual Property for automated banking machines. Philip is an entrepreneur and leads divisions that include medical software, point-of-sale software, hardware, leasing and real estate.
Philip is also President & CEO of Quickservice Technologies Inc. (www.quickservice.com), a leading provider of Point-of-sale software solutions within the quick-service sector. Philip’s focus has been on strategic initiatives to increase the Quickservice software offerings and diversify geographically, while exceeding the expectations of the existing customer base.
Born in Surrey, England in 1969, Philip attended the University of Calgary where he received a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1990, and attended the University of Toronto where he received a Master of Business Administration in 1993.
Mr. Manesis joined Sigmund in 2005 after a sixteen-year tenure with the IBM Corporation. He initially held senior corporate accounting and finance positions. He later moved on to IBM Global Services and served in both senior project manager and consultant roles, providing oversight for implementation of enterprise financial systems. In this capacity, he worked directly with Fortune 100 and 500 corporations both domestically and abroad. His role expanded to encompass oversight for sales operations responsible for management of million dollar/multi-year software implementation and consulting engagements worldwide.
Mr. Manesis has been instrumental in evolving Sigmund strategies for software deployment, consulting and customer support management. Mr. Manesis is responsible for all of Sigmund's sales, development, implementation and consulting engagements, support, quality assurance and overall operations of the company.
Cory Valentine joined the Sigmund team in 2006 as Director of Client Development. Prior to joining Sigmund, Mr. Valentine spent 6 years as a Behavioral Healthcare Administrator and Clinician in both Sub-Acute and Post-Acute Residential settings. Mr. Valentine’s Clinical background ranged from treating a chronic mentally ill population to addiction and dual diagnosis. Administratively, Mr. Valentine has experience managing a 65 bed Residential Treatment Center specializing in co-occurring disorders. His responsibilities ranged from Staff Management to Staff Training and Behavioral Modification Planning, as well as ensuring the highest quality of care coordination between Direct Care professionals and the Clinical/Medical Team.
Mr. Valentine’s background and passion in behavioral health has been paramount in both understanding organizational requirements and articulating Sigmund’s proposed product offerings. Mr. Valentine is responsible for the day to day oversight of Sigmund’s Sales Team and Marketing efforts. Mr. Valentine provides active leadership in relationship management, sales strategy, third party partnerships and public relations.
Mr. Prete started his career at Sigmund as a Senior Software Engineer. He was the lead engineer in the development of Sigmund’s industry-leading revenue cycle management system for behavioral healthcare and addiction treatment. Over the years, Matthew has been integral in the design and development of all Sigmund software, helping to push our technology in a fast-paced environment. Matthew was promoted to Vice President of Application Development to oversee all Application Development for VSS Medical Technologies. His primary goal is building the next generation of software for the health care industry, leveraging experience from all of the companies within VSS.
Romana is a Business Development Specialist of 5 years at Sigmund, and has Master’s Degree training in Social Work from Adelphi University, graduating in 2009. She has over eight years of experience working with adults and adolescents with acute psychiatric disorders and addiction. Romana specializes in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. With vast experience with training staff on client diagnoses, interventions, managing counter-transference, as well as creating group treatment curriculums, Romana has been able to successfully leverage her experience in the field to provide a consultative approach to software purchasing and assist with software requirements analysis, workflow mapping, and providing instruction on how to navigate organizational change management issues.
John has been with Sigmund Software since 2004 and has participated and led all major implementations of Sigmund Software, including American Addiction Centers, Caron Treatment Centers, and Origins Recovery Centers. John is an expert both on the product platform as well as best practices for leveraging the Sigmund product line to improve efficiency and automation.
Jennifer is an expert on the Clinical, Medical and work-flow areas of the Sigmund Software. She has a MS Ed in School Psychology and has worked in the behavioral health field prior to working with Sigmund. Jennifer has extensive product support experience as well as training and project planning.
Jessica has extensive experience supporting the technological and work-flow needs for Addiction Treatment Providers. As the EHR Manager for American Addiction Centers, Jessica provides requirements analysis, workflow configuration and testing, training and internal support services for all facilities across the country. In addition to supporting the diverse and comprehensive EHR needs of American Addiction Centers, Jessica is also an expert in the implementation and administration of CRM tools for Addiction Treatment Providers.
Bethany joined the Sigmund team in 2016 as a Software Consultant and Trainer. Her previous work experience is comprised of a medical background with over 10 years of Nursing, Medical Assistant, and Admin EHR Super User experience. Bethany became a Licensed Practical Nurse in the states of Connecticut and New York, where she received her LPN degree from PNW BOCES in June of 2014 and was recognized for clinical excellence. Bethany continues to keep her nursing license active and stays up to date on best practices within the field of nursing.
Beth joined the Sigmund Software team as a Business Development Specialist at the start of 2016. Prior to her role here at Sigmund, Beth came from a clinical background where she practiced as a behavioral clinician for individuals with mental, emotional and physical disabilities alongside the State of CT. In addition, Beth has a background in marketing and project management, with experience in market research. Beth is a graduate from the University of Connecticut where she obtained a BS in Clinical Psychology and spent four years working within the Early Detection/Optimal Outcome Autism Research Group.
Domenick is a product specialist at Sigmund Software, with extensive knowledge of the functionality in both Clinical and Financial aspects of EHR. He has worked closely with all teams in Sigmund Software, using his training in database management, user interface design, and hardware maintenance to ensure a quality, user friendly, powerful, and functional software product. Domenick also works with the entire family of VSS products, using his years of experience in Audio and Video engineering to produce informative webinars to enhance customer experience.
Angelyn Spada joined the Sigmund Software team in 2007 working with the sales team and has since transitions to Human Resources and Office Administration. Angelyn holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from The University of Connecticut. Prior to working at Sigmund Software she used Sigmund professionally as an end user for three years at a behavioral health facility. Angelyn works closely with our client’s administration and accounts payable teams.
Mr. Toth was appointed Director of Technology and Infrastructure in April 2012, adding over 35 years of IT experience and 12-plus years of IT management expertise to the Sigmund team. David had a successful history of designing and implementing complex data center facilities, and this expertise allowed Sigmund to bring its data center facility completely in-house, providing increased security, better controls, and completely modernizing its entire computing infrastructure. David continues to manage Sigmund’s primary data center, a secure Tier-4 grade facility attached to its Connecticut office, as well as the Sigmund Business Continuity and Contingency Site located near Niagara Falls, another Tier-4 facility that he designed and implemented that is owned by Sigmund’s parent company VSS Medical Technologies. David is a Certified HIPAA Security Professional, so in addition to overseeing the management of both the primary and contingency datacenters is also Sigmund’s HIPAA Compliance Officer.
