Development Strategy

Sigmund was designed from the ground up as a single integrated system. This means that every core aspect of our software was developed from an original master blueprint. Sigmund was conceived of and developed as an enterprise behavioral health information system. It didn´t find its roots in other industries or applications. It didn´t begin as a medical billing package.

We have never relied on or acquired third party vendors to provide ancillary functionality. We have developed it ourselves. We have actively avoided the Frankenstein monster approach taken by many software vendors. Instead, Sigmund is a single, seamless piece of software that does it all.

Clinical, billing and administrative data are combined effectively in the database architecture. All features and functions are provided through a set of common, standardized interfaces. This means that your staff won´t have to learn many different software systems. It also means that your administrators can report across all aspects of their programs. From a support standpoint, information services personnel are dealing with a single vendor that has supported its products since their inception.

Finally, because we built it and we own it, we are ideally positioned to customize it for you. Modeling the individualistic needs of your organization isn´t hampered by our inability to modify certain "pieces" of the application. We pride ourselves on Sigmund´s inherent flexibility to adapt to a range of treatment settings, but we also understand that every organization is truly unique.

Internet Based and Desktop Access

Sigmund™ is fully supported for Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT 3.51 or 4.0 and Windows XP. As such, it can be readily operated in a standard desktop configuration. Better yet, Sigmund™ was also designed and optimized to run under both Citrix and Terminal Server.

Citrix and Terminal Server mean that Sigmund can be accessed over the internet by your staff through a secure mechanism while maintaining your patient data on server(s) located on your premises. This allows for unparalleled internet-based access and performance without compromising the security of your data.

Tools and Technology

Sigmund has been designed using only industry standard Microsoft™ development and database tools. Your information services personnel are not forced to interact with proprietary databases or foreign frameworks for Ad-hoc reporting or maintenance activities. Sigmund™ was built and optimized for the MS SQL Server database manager.
